Learn moreThis wonderful furniture first appeared in the mid 17th Century in both the US and Northern Europe. Using off-cuts from factories making sewing Bobbins, furniture makers began to create whimsical designs for chairs, beds, cribs and all sorts of other interiors.
Yet, today antique bobbin furniture is hard to come by. Many contemporary reproductions lack the detail and skill that makes this style so wonderful. Turner Pocock teamed up with Chelsea Textiles to rectify this.
The result is a magical collection of beds, consoles and side tables, available in a vast rainbow of colourways.
As Bunny Turner explains, “It was important to us that we retained the historic integrity of bobbin furniture while encouraging playfulness through colour. Originally bobbin pieces were fun and characterful, we were really keen that our pieces had this quality too”.
